Often in scripture, “stirred up” people indicate conflict and dissent (ex. Acts 6:12 & Matt 15:11). But I always think of the stirred-up waters of Bethesda that were a place of healing and hope in the time of Jesus (John 5). What would it mean for our souls and spirits to be stirred up like the waters of our baptism, turning that which may be peaceful but stolid into a renewed energy and vigor? What in your own faith needs stirring during this time of preparation? How are you called to stir up the Church?
