Gladness is more than just a momentary feeling, it is a state of being that has staying power. Advent is a season of gladness because of the sustained expectation of the coming of the Messiah, Jesus, God incarnate come to save us all. Gladness is linked with gratitude, and so each day, as we draw nearer to Christmas, and the coming of Christ, take a quiet minute to name something you’re grateful for, and sustain that state of gladness in your soul.
