Quietness
Quietness brings me back to the old hymn “Blessed Quietness, Holy Quietness.” I sang it as a kid without really knowing what I was singing. Now I view quietness as a rare and holy gift. The world can be so busy and loud, yet every so often a soft stillness shows up and makes room for God. In those pauses, peace slips into the noise and the Spirit reminds me that Christ is near. Quietness is not just empty space. It is full of presence, hope, and rest for worn-out hearts and weary spirits. This Advent, I invite you to welcome those sacred pauses and listen again for the voice that meets us in silence, so we can notice the love that has been there all along.
Sosiego
La quietud me recuerda a un viejo himno “Bendita quietud, santa quietud” que cantaba cuando era niño sin saber realmente lo que estaba cantando. Ahora veo la quietud como un don precioso y sagrado. El mundo puede ser muy ajetreado y ruidoso, pero de vez en cuando aparece una suave quietud que abre un espacio para Dios. En esas pausas, la paz aplasta todo el ruido y el Espíritu me recuerda que Cristo está cerca. La quietud no es espacio vacío: está lleno de presencia, esperanza y descanso para los corazones agotados y los espíritus cansados. Este Adviento, te invito a acoger esas pausas sagradas y escuchar nuevamente esa voz que nos encuentra en el silencio, para que así podamos notar el amor que ha estado allí todo el tiempo.
