Unquenchable
When we hear the word unquenchable, we might think of our thirst or our desire for something. We don’t often think of the context of this word from our holy scripture, where John the Baptist tells people about the chaff that Jesus will sweep into the unquenchable fire, versus the wheat that God will store in the granary. As we wait for the infant Jesus to be born, it’s good to remember that Jesus is God the son and has all of the power of the Trinity. We believe in, and follow, a powerful God and we should keep the alternative to heaven in mind.
Inextinguible
Cuando escuchamos la palabra inextinguible, podríamos pensar en nuestra sed o nuestro deseo de algo. No solemos pensar en el contexto de esta palabra de nuestra Sagrada Escritura, donde Juan el Bautista le habla a la gente sobre la paja que Jesús barrerá en un fuego inextinguible, en comparación con el trigo que Dios almacenará en el granero.
